As a hygienist, I always encourage patients to floss. Not to add another box to check on a to do list, but because flossing or using another dental aid to clean between your teeth is the only way to reach the bacteria making it’s home there.
Did you know that your smile is one of the first characteristics someone notices when you meet them? Because our smiles have such a critical influence on our first impression, the state of our mouth, gums, and teeth have an impact on our confidence.
Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars located in the very back of your mouth on either side. These are generally the last teeth to develop, coming in between the ages of 17 and 25. Since wisdom teeth do not generally develop until a person’s later teenage years, there are many cases when there is simply not enough space left in the mouth for them to effectively grow. At this point, our dentists at Spokane Dental may recommend a removal.
Would you be concerned if your hands bled every time you washed them? The answer is yes, you probably would, yet many people think it’s completely normal if their gums bleed when they floss or brush. The truth is, this could be a sign of periodontal (gum) disease.
This year we are mixing in some healthy treats to stuff next to the chocolate in our stockings, and thought we’d share some ideas with you!
Dental implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth. Known for their comfortable durability and seamless integration with your traditional teeth, dental implant procedures performed by our experts here at Spokane Dental, offer a more affordable, long-term solution that works with you and your smile.

If you have ever seen toothpaste commercials you’ve heard the words “gum disease”. Your hygienist has probably even mentioned it or the words “gingivitis” or “periodontitis”. Vague images of gums bleeding may have popped up into your mind, but have you ever wondered ‘what does that really mean?’
Developing a routine is not easy. It needs a constant effort and determination from your side to develop persistence. Inculcating a dental routine is mandatory to achieve good oral health. A healthy mouth keeps a number of medical problems at bay. Our mouth is the beginning of our digestive system. Hence, it should be the cleanest of all as it is the first place in which our body receives almost every nutrient. As a matter of fact, we find that teeth and the oral cavity are generally one of the most neglected body parts and bear importance to an individual only when it starts hurting.
